If you’re a crafter, artist, or maker, I’m sure someone has once told you “you should start an Etsy shop!” am I right? I’m here to tell you that it’s a lot easier said than done! However, this past month I’ve had so much fun coming up with new ideas and making them tangible items in the hopes that they end up in the hands of others.

Well, what a perfect time to start an online shop than around the end of a year (new years resolution, anyone?). I ran the idea by my mother and she kind of thought it was a little ambitious. Like my ideas in the past, she takes a few minutes to let it sit. She never fails to get on board and support me.

For Christmas this past year, she gifted me a beautiful Canon printer from a Black Friday sale (I’m only second to her in getting a bargain deal). It’s shiny, it’s fast, and when I print, it shakes the little bookshelf it sits on.

I just needed some heavyweight paper and a few new drawings.

Fun fact, I didn’t intend to create a set of cards for Valentine’s Day, an anniversary, or any holiday to begin with. Sometimes I get an itch to draw a certain animal, and this time it was foxes. My roommate in college was also obsessed with them – if you’re reading this, you know who you are!

The foxes were kind of lonely, so my next drawing was a tiger couple (disregard the fact that foxes are their prey…). My mother’s zodiac animal is the tiger, and coincidentally they are also an animal she loves.

And finally, I realized I couldn’t have a set without my favorite animal – wolves.

If you’ve made it all the way to the end, thank you for reading my first post!

Be sure to check out my Etsy shop where I’m offering free shipping when you buy any 3 cards – you can mix and match! Click HERE.

And lastly – is there any animal you’d like to see me add to this card set? Let me know!

Happy creating!
